Pero hay algunos parques, que además, tienen la peculiaridad de estar a orillas de algún arroyito. Es el caso del parque lineal que hay en la zona de la estación. Allí, a escasos metros, viven plantas y árboles típicos de parques y jardines y vegetación de ambientes más silvestres. Esta cercanía, hace que se puedan observar especies “diferentes” como es el caso del acentor común (Prunella modularis). El acentor común cría en la sierra en zona de piornales, pero cuando va llegando el frío se desplazan a zonas más bajas con temperaturas más suaves, y es entonces cuando los podemos observar y más comúnmente escuchar, en los campos colmenareños. 
But there are some parks that, in addition, have the peculiarity of being on the banks of little streams, like for example the linear park that is in the area near the station. There live garden plants and trees typical of parks and vegetation of wilder environments. This nearness to natural habitats makes possible that "different" species can be observed. That’s the case of the hedge accentor (Prunella modularis). The hedge accentor breeds in mountain areas, but during the cold moths they move to lower zones with softer temperatures, and it is during this time when we can observe them and, more commonly, listen to them in the field.

Algunas aves las puedes encontrar casi en cualquier parque, como son las urracas, los petirrojos y los colirrojos tizones. Aquí podemos ver las diferencias de color entre un macho y una hembra. 
Some birds can be found in almost any park. These are for example the magpies, the robins and the black redstarts. Here we can see the colour differences between a male and a female.

Pequeños banditos de verdecillos y verderones se alimentan con frutillos y semillas, al igual que los coloridos jilgueros. 
Small tremblings of European serins and greenfinches feed on small fruits and seeds, as well as the goldfinches do.

La lavandera blanca también es un habitual invernante, que recorre el suelo de nuestros parques con simpáticas carreritas, buscando y persiguiendo bichitos a los que da caza para alimentarse. 
The pied wagtail is also a common wintering bird, which seeks the ground of our parks with graceful runs, looking and chasing insects, on which it feeds.

Por último, la vegetación del arroyito, da cobertura para refugiarse rápidamente a los esquivos zorzales comunes. 
Finally, the vegetation of the little stream gives shelter to the shy song thrushes, which run away quickly.
